khajuraho is the most visited and exotic tourist destination of India which is located in the Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh at a distance of 385 miles from Delhi. It is the most famous historical place after Taj Mahal. There are 85 original temples which represent the expression of a highly developed civilization and are the country's exclusive gift of love to the world. Several foreign tourists specially come to India to visit the Khajuraho. The major tourist attractions in Khajuraho are the Western group of temples. The other groups are the Eastern and the Southern group of temples. The Western Group of temples at Khajuraho comprises the Chaunsat Yogini Temple, Chitragupta Temple, Kandariya Mahadeo, Matangeswara Temple, Vishwanath Temple, Lakhsmana Temple and the Varaha Temple. All these temples are dedicated to various Hindu male and female deities. Some other famous tourist attractions in Khajuraho are the Rane Falls and the Panna National Park.

Best time to visit: October to March.

Culture:
Khajuraho a place once well known for the Khajoor trees. Ancient Art and ruler practices were based on the reality of life involving Karma and Kama together. Bharatnatyam, the intricate footwork of kathak, the temple dance of Odissi, Manipuri, Kuchipudi and even Kathakali, with its colorful masks, are all part of this festival. So, this place is famous for the temples, consisting of erotic sculptures and images, depicting passion, music, dance and other creative arts.

How to Reach

By Air: Khajuraho is having a domestic airport known as City Airport Khajuraho. It is located at 2 Km south of Khajuraho town. Delhi and Varanasi are the connected to the airport.

By Road: Khajuraho city is very well connected by Jhansi, Orchha, Satna, Katni, Bandhavgarh, Chattarpur etc. Usually tourists arrive at Jhansi Railway Station by train and take taxi car to travel to Khajuraho, via Orchha or directly.

By Rail: Most important railway station for Khajuraho is Khajuraho Railway Station which is just 5km from Khajuraho Town.

Itinerary

Duration: 4 Days/3 Nights

Places to visit: Delhi - Khajuraho - Delhi

Day 1: (Delhi Arrival)

On the arrival at the Delhi IGI airport you will reach Delhi and will be accompanied to the hotel that has been booked in advance. After reaching hotel you can go sightseeing tour in Delhi like go for historical places, shopping in Chandi Chowk etc. After enjoying the day you will return back the hotel for the overnight stay and dinner.

Day 2: (Delhi - Khajuraho)

After having breakfast you will go for Khajuraho by flight. You will check into the hotel Kajuraho. After refreshment you can see sightseeing of the Khajuraho. Overnight stay in hotel in Jaipur.

Day 3: (Khajuraho)

After breakfast explore the Western temples & Eastern temples of khajuraho while your guide explains the intricate meaning and legends behind each describable sculpture. Night stay in Khajuraho in hotel.

Day 4: (Khajuraho - Delhi)

Today you are free for shopping. After shopping you will return back to Delhi from flight.
